Set up an age-restricted Discord channel
Discord only allows age-restricted app commands in age-restricted server channels. Set the channel on desktop or web, keep access limited to adults, then test SuccubusBot in the room where adult roleplay belongs.
Fast answer
Edit Channel → Overview → enable Age-Restricted Channel. Discord says this setup is available on desktop or browser.
DM commands
Adults can use age-restricted app commands in DMs after enabling the opt-in under User Settings → Privacy → Server Privacy Defaults.
Mark the channel age-restricted
Use Discord desktop or a browser. You need permission to edit the channel.
Open Edit Channel
Select the gear beside the channel name, or right-click the channel and choose Edit Channel.
Enable Age-Restricted Channel
Open Overview, turn on Age-Restricted Channel, and save the change. Members will see Discord's adult-content warning before entering.
Check role access
Use channel permission overrides if only selected adult roles should view or post in the room. The age setting does not replace server access controls.
Test one command
Run one SuccubusBot command in the channel. A narrow test catches missing channel, app, or attachment permissions before you build a larger RP area.
Age-restricted is a placement rule
Marking a channel age-restricted tells Discord and installed apps that the room may contain adult material. It does not grant every member access, verify every person by itself, or make prohibited content acceptable.
SuccubusBot adult roleplay, explicit media, and haptic scenes belong in a room where adults expect them. Server owners should keep ordinary channels ordinary, write plain channel rules, and use roles when the room needs a smaller audience.
Discord still prohibits material that violates its Community Guidelines. The channel toggle changes placement and access. It does not override platform policy or local law.
If the command still will not run
Match the failure to the layer that controls it.
The channel toggle is missing
Move to Discord desktop or web. Confirm that your role can edit the channel. Discord's current guide documents the setting under the channel's Overview tab.
An adult member cannot enter
Check channel role permissions first. If Discord has locked an adult user out based on age access, the user must follow Discord's appeal or age-assurance path.
The command works in a server but not DMs
Discord disables age-restricted commands in DMs by default. The adult user must enable the opt-in under User Settings → Privacy → Server Privacy Defaults.
SuccubusBot can see the room but cannot reply
Check View Channel, Send Messages, Embed Links, Attach Files, Read Message History, thread, and webhook permissions based on the command you are testing.
SuccubusBot shortcut: A manager can use /set toggle_nsfw when they want SuccubusBot to toggle the current channel setting. Discord's own channel settings remain the clearest fallback if the command is unavailable.
